Myrna brings over 15 years experience as a business manager with both line and staff responsibility in Business Development, Logistics, Customer Service, and Operations. She is an energetic problem solver experienced in start-ups as well as a recognized team leader with proven negotiating skills.

    Prior to joining Central Council, Myrna has held unique positions as General Manager, 3R Products & Services, and Contract Specialist for SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, and VP Development for Gana-A-Yoo Services Corporation, President and CEO for Kakivik Asset Management, VP Development for Tlingit and Haida Technology Industries(THTI) and CEO of Hammock Heeyna Corporation. In these positions she was responsible for managing and negotiation of federal and private contracts, participation in the SBA 8(a) business development program as well as tier one contractor to ConocoPhillips Alaska.

    Myrna spent 3 years with Tlingit and Haida Industries, tribal enterprise of the Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. During her tenure with THTI the company secured a $50M IDIQ GWAC contract with the Department of the Interior. While CEO of Kakivik Asset management, she expanded business to multiple locations in Alaska as well as Wyoming and Texas, concurrently; the company closed that Fiscal-Year with revenues of $32.8M and operating earnings of $2.7M, a 400% increase over the previous year. Kakivik developed and implemented in partnerships with the US Department of Labor and the University of Alaska the first Apprenticeship Program for Nondestructive Testing in the United States.

   Graduating from George Washington University/ESI/Defense Acquisition University and the Federal Acquisition Institute earning the professional designations of George Washington Certified Contract Manager(GWCMM), and the professional designation Industry Certification in Contract Management Federal Level 1,(ICCM-F) from the National Contract Management Association. The Industry Certification in Contract Management-Federal(ICCM-F) is a certification awarded by the National Contract management Association(NCMA) that parallels the Federal Acquisition Certification In Contracting(FAC-C).

    She is a member of the National Contract Management Association, the Academia.edu, the Alaska Native Sisterhood, Camp#14, The Fraternal Order of Eagles #4200, and the women of the moose Chapter 439.

    Myrna has three children and is an avid fisher. Myrna is Tlingit and Haida Indian; her Tlingit name is Xieshxi, she is Neil naax xat sitee, Duk`tool, Weix` naax xat sitee, Taakwaaneidi Hi`t(Raven/Skulpin house) from the village of Sxwaan of the Heinyaa Kwaan(Klawock)people. She is Chankweidi Yadi.( a child of the Haida people on her father's side).
